I Coach...
A life coach* is a professional mentor who is trained to lead others through the processes of life improvement. Life coaching provides a safe, structured approach to guide people into taking a closer look at themselves to find clarity, purpose, and greater fulfillment.
Using a variety of assessment tools, I start with the client’s inventory of their personality traits, most important values, priorities, and wishes. We look at satisfaction levels in twelve life domains that include relationships, career, growth, spirituality, happiness, and physical health. We build a picture of the current environment to identify areas that are out of sync with the client’s desired outcomes.
Through aligning a client’s goals and actions with their core values and personality type, they move into greater authenticity and life satisfaction. Clients find resilience, flexibility, and success when they are living with intention and moving toward their goals.
The process of life coaching helps people to:
- Clarify problem areas
- Establish goals
- Develop realistic strategies to implement goals
- Enact accountability for timely action
- Find resolution within life’s inevitable challenges
A successful life coach relationship is founded upon trust, authenticity, and commitment. It usually takes six to twelve sessions, weekly or biweekly, to begin to see tangible results.
* While a life coach is not a counselor, a life coach might recommend counseling, psychotherapy, or other mental health resources.
