About Allison Brown

Every phase of my life brings applications to share with others as a life coach.

My parents divorced in the early 1970s when I was 12 years old. I did not know anyone else whose parents were divorced and I struggled with the stigma. I attended 13 schools and lived in seven cities in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and Texas, before graduating from high school. I know what it’s like to be an introvert in our extroverted world, and the stress of reinventing oneself to fit new environments.

Both my parents remarried over the years and I navigated new relationships with step-parents, their children, and their extended families. While I did not intend to be divorced myself, life took that unfortunate turn shortly after the birth of my first child. I remarried a divorcee with two children and have 50 years’ experience with blended family dynamics. Now empty-nesters, my husband and I live on the “homestead” in the country. Our grown children have blessed us with three grandsons who keep us busy when we aren’t golfing, gardening, or gadding about.

With this background, I believe I have a lot to offer in terms of coaching for marriages and blended families.
